Lagretta graduated from Vassar College in 1998, where she majored in International Studies. Following graduation, she spent three years in Japan, working and studying Japanese. In 2004, she graduated from Cornell Law School, where she focused on business law. After law school, Lagretta served as law clerk to Chief Judge Robert L. Hinkle of the Northern District of Florida in Tallahassee, Florida for two years. She joined the firm as an Associate in 2006.
